Ingredients

  • 200g unsalted butter, softened
  • 200g granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 100g walnuts, chopped
  • 50ml strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 150g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 100ml heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Additional walnuts for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated.
  3. Sift together the flour and baking powder, then gently fold into the butter mixture. Stir in the brewed coffee and chopped walnuts until evenly mixed.
